Service Description

In this session, we celebrate the Roman goddess Ceres who protected the harvest, particularly grains, which were and continue to be an important staple food. To recognize the importance of grain, we are making two types of grass and wheat bundles. One plain and one with flowers inserted into it. Dates: Saturday, September 25 at 12:00 PM PST; Tuesday September 21 at 10:00 AM PST; Friday September 24 at 8:00 AM PST Materials 4 fistfuls of dried wheats, grasses, and straws. They can be between 12 and 24 inches long. Try to make sure they are a fairly similar length, but it does not have to be perfect. Two handfuls of dried flowers. You can make these yourself about two weeks before the event. Simply hang the flowers by their stems upside down, in a cool place and away from direct sunlight. Good examples to use are roses, spray roses, hydrangeas, lavender, status, chamomile, dahlias, and daisies. Two long pieces of raffia or string (about 36 to 48 inches long) 1 burlap or autumnal/late summer colored ribbon, about 1 to two inches wide and 36 inches long/ fruit, nuts or candles. A flat board or plate for displaying your work. Battery-operated fairy lights or tealight candles Floral scissors Regular scissors
