Dinner Table Floral Design Class

In this class, you will learn to create a beautiful and elegant dinner table arrangement. This is a classic design that is intended to be viewed from all angles. Once you learn the shape, you can build on it with more flowers and larger containers.

You can simply watch or follow along. If you choose to follow along, you will need the following materials.

• A fist-full of greenery to build the structure. You need this. The best greenery for this:  Olive, Salal, Baker's Fern, Eucalyptus, or other leafy green. One large handful should be enouth.
• Other decorative greenery. Six stems of Israeli Ruscus, six or so stems of tall eucalyptus, six or so stems of ivy,  8 or so stems of asparagus fern, or six or so stems of myrtel, for example, what ever you find is good. Also have a look around your home and garden. Young branches from trees and bushes are also fantastic.
• A large bunch of flowers. A mixed bouquet from your local grocery story is a great. However, you will need six of the same stems. They can be carnations, mums, daisies, or roses, for example.
• Filler flowers such as babies breath, hebe, or  monte casino
• A low square container, about four inches in hight and width. Try your local thrift shop. They are fantastic places to find floral containers. You help reduce waste and save money.

You will learn to

• create an architectural structure made of greenery for the base of the design;
• create a dinner table arragnement that will be the basis for even larger designs;
• find floral design is a meditative and peaceful practice.
